Lucky's Cafe Poem by Jim Boone

Lucky's Cafe

I'm going down to Lucky's Café
As long as it's around the corner
Or a few blocks or miles away

Mornings happen with greater ease
Once I pass through that front door
And exchange greetings
Find a table with a view
So I can see everyone who arrives
And get my perspective and
Senses pumped for the day.

At Lucky's café the food is good
But secondary to the verbal
And visual feast arriving and
Departing regularly; always radiating
Right there on the corner of
Many a scene where the movers
And shakers, observers and note-takers
Get together, get inspired, get amazed,
Get amused, get turned on and
Get going day by day.

There's a world of smiles at Lucky's Café
From the dawn's earliest light to the
Neon glow at the close of another day,
But no matter how I'm feeling
Or what may get in my way, if I
Need a lift, or don't want to risk
Needing one, I'm going to
Lucky's Café in Dallas, Texas.
