Lying Here Poem by V. T. Bullock

Lying Here

Listening to you breathe beside me
Watching your chest rise and fall
There is nowhere else I need to be
You have it all

To know you will always be there
By my side through thick and thin
I love the little acts that show you care
To let you go would be a sin
Feeling your skin beside mine
It’s like one of those fantasy stories

Hopefully we never cross that line
Wandering into uncharted territories
A land of forbidden topics, what to do
They could make it or break it

While lying in this bed beside you
I feel nervous, but you roll over and it’s like a light bulb lit
You give me a kiss, say good night, and wrap your arms around me
I realize I don’t need to think about what’s down the road
I just want to lie here forever and listen to you breathe
