Magic Light Poem by Sandra Feldman

Magic Light

Rating: 5.0

I am convinced,
That some magic light,
Touches Great Poets,
As the hand writes,
The heart feels,
All the delights,
All the hurts,
That ever were,
And from some unknown zone,
A new life is born,
Out of happiness or despair.

This is just wonderful. It's conveys sufficient inspiration for a dozen poems, a score of poems, oh, fuss and bother - as many poems as the aroused Imagination can articulate! FROM SOME UNKNOWN ZONE, /A NEW LIFE IS BORN, / OUT OF HAPPINESS AND DESPAIR. I have been reading the German Romantic poet Novalis, and I surrender all doubt to the certainty that poetry will fulfill itself in its own time. That's what Novalis experienced and passed on to us. We are his children. He will be the Spirit that protects us from malign forces. He is the magician your other poem celebrates.

It is something beyond ourselves. (In my case, it's part thesaurus.: -)) Happiness and despair are great inspirations but sometimes just daily life sparks the flame too. Great poem, Sandra
