Mahatma Gandhi 32 - Satyagraha Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Mahatma Gandhi 32 - Satyagraha

Rating: 5.0

'Satyagraha'
A unique Indian term,
An act of commitment,
An oath,
A firm resolution,
An effort towards an objective,
A spirit of inner strength and will power!

Gandhiji sowed the seed of Satyagraha
In Africa - one of the continents of this world:
The potent seed of Satyagraha,
Sprouting out with determination,
Growing into a convincing tree,
Spreading its branches, wider and wider
Moving towards its goal in India!

Gandhiji discovered this movement,
Movement of Satyagraha -
‘Satya' - the truth,
‘Agraha' - the aspiration,
An efficacious endeavour,
To seek and search for truth,
To realise and establish truth!

Gandhiji's Satyagraha
A methodology of passive resistance,
Yet, a persuasive movement,
To stand up for a worthy cause,
To fight for basic human rights,
To live a life of dignity,
To seek liberation from oppression!

Satyagraha became a strong weapon
For Gandhiji - Throughout his life,
A weapon that never hurt anyone,
A weapon unaccompanied by any physical assault,
A weapon fully devoid of any sort of violence,
A weapon of peace
A weapon of powerful Ahimsa!

When peace permeates ones inner self, the person must become a student of life then he will begin to teach, and yes, he will have the salt of the earth followers, a great tribute in poetic perfection! Thank you so much for sharing.

If only, all the people of various countries, understand the value of love and peace, then earth would become a heaven to live in. I am grateful for your excellent comment. God bless Richard.
