Malecon Poem by George Capron

Malecon

As I pass by the Malecon Wall
They come bashing and crashing
The great waves they rise and fall.
Over the wall they come smashing.

It’s wet and cold on this night.
The sea comes into the street,
Even the few birds take flight.
Tomorrow they’ll return to greet

Those who stand who have strong feet.
As the sea, the wind and the sky:
How they cry, when they meet.
This is no day for them to fly.

Visibility is low with a chill in the air
No lovers tonight sit out on the Wall
They’ll wait until the weather is fair.
Stay inside as the waves rise and fall.
