Maturity To Discover Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Maturity To Discover

Maturity to discover,
Has a way to abandon childishness.
Once one who starts arguments to want them,
Realize this is not what adults do.
To then say to others who are adults,
How they like to argue.
But no one they pick,
Act as if they are interested.

"Uh...
Do you ever stop to think,
About what you say before you say it? "

-Why should I?
This is who I am.
I'm down to Earth.
I don't pretend to be what I'm not.-

"You might want to give that more thought.
And attempt to pretend you are an adult.
No one would notice you are pretending.
Trust me."
