Maya Angelou

She thinks she is cool
but she is not
she thinks she has swag
but she doesn't
she thinks her poems are good
but they aren't
she thinks people like her
but they don't

She wishes she was as cool as me
but that's not possible
she wishes she was dead
so do i
I hate Maya Angelou
I really really do

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I read her poem and disliked the sexual messages that were in it, it was obvious that she hates men, and whites

People hate what they don't understand. And your hostility for Maya has no negative or positive effect on her. Maya is a legend. In your full life would probably not grow to her shoulder. Respect those who are better than you even if your messages infuriates you. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Sara Teasdale

Only in sleep I see their faces,
Children I played with when I was a child,
Louise comes back with her brown hair braided,
Annie with ringlets warm and wild.
