Maybe Poem by Kelly Batson

Maybe

Rating: 4.5

Maybe I’ve had all I can take
This smile is something I can no longer fake
I need a safe place to rest
Stick around and you best believe I’ll put you to the test
And damn you to hell
I’m not longer buying the bullshit you sell
Suddenly now you care and need me to stay
When I’m finally strong enough to walk away
You need someone who doesn’t feel
In that you’ll find a desire for someone as surreal
As me and that haunting day we met
That’s too bad cause’ I’ll only leave you with my silhouette
You should have seen me when I was your baby
Then you could have held me forever, at least maybe
