‘Tis that time of year again,
When Jews for Passover do prepare,
Change crockery and cutlery,
And cleaning drives them to despair.
For it has been decreed,
For each and every Jew,
That they mustn’t own or have
Any Chometz left in view.
It must be sold by them,
To a person ~ a Non - Jew,
But can by them be stored,
As Agent for the purchaser too.
This Documented Sale
Of all their Chometz must be made,
Before the Morn of the Eve of Pesach,
Till Nightfall of the Final Day.
Chometz sold in this way,
Reverts to Jewish ownership once more.
But that which was not sold,
Must be destroyed for evermore.
