Melancholy Dreams Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Melancholy Dreams

Melancholy dreams
Rancor of this soul
Feelings in a tailspin
Beauty, so hard to let go

Memories, so many
Perhaps memories planted
That was never there
Never grown into anything
Barren to a deserted field
Distant memories stuck in despair

The origins of this heart
Has yearned for momentum
Something sacred in sense
Beyond any words
Could ever relay
Convey

In between it all
Many tall mountains
Bodies of water
Far and wide

High of devotion
Emotions so deep

Traveling afar
Beyond the furthest reaches
Of the enduring skies above

Melancholy dreams
Exist when these eyes open
And the day becomes a façade

Of what felt as a prophecy
Only becoming dormant
Stoic in the icy threshold of time

My love
Are you a ghost in my heart?
Haunting me every single day

I am still hopeful
And that is the struggle
I endure for you

Beauty, May you rise this heart from its grave
I bestow to you my all

Melancholy dreams,
Will you travel the light with me?
And become something more
Powerful than we could have ever imagined

Melancholy dreams
Change your ways for me

I dedicate this heart
To the most beautiful grandest of dreams

What shall become of us?
As I travel through the depths of time

Fate, do you believe in love?
Send me message
Take me away
Far away
Towards your ever loving sublime

This heart, still wide open

I am yours
Will you ever be mine?

Am I invisible?
