Memories ebb and flow
Reminders of our joys and sorrows
Lovers and decisions
Made before embracing of old age
With slowing faltering steps.
Memories so crystal clear
Faces of those long dead
Parents, brothers and sisters
Schoolmates, friends, and lovers
Beloved pets, childhood toys.
As a tide memories
Ebb and flow through mind and soul
Returning us to the love and joy of yesterday
With sadness they are but memories
Never to be relived again.
