Memory Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

Memory

My heart is wounded,
Because of thee.

It can’t let you back in,
Don’t you see?

The wounds you inflicted
Are healing now.

Mostly what remains,
Are only scars.

He helped me through,
And he loves me so.

He has taken your place,
Memory, its time for you to go.

He is flesh and blood,
Kindness, caring, loving and loyal…

Why are you staring? It is done,
It is over; it is time for you to leave.

Yes, I know it hurts.
But one day you will find another.

Let us hope you treat her better,
Lest you go through this forever.
