Men Of Honour Poem by Aminath Neena

Men Of Honour

Rating: 4.0

Where have all the honourable men vanished to?
Were they all devoured by the Loch Ness monster?
For I see none here but chauvinistic barbarians all along
To derive pleasure in gaming with the fair sex

Where have all the honourable men vanished to?
Did they all disappear into the Bermuda Triangle?
For I see nothing here except for narcissism all along
That has nothing to offer to a deserving dame

Where have all the honourable men vanished to?
Were they all lured by the Pied Piper of Hamelin?
For I see nothing but juvenile gold diggers all along
Scheming for a chance to play 'Cinderella' in the modern fairy tale

Where have all the honourable men vanished to?
Did they all become ensnared within the remnants of yesterday?
For I see none who would uphold chivalry's sword all along
No, there aren't any Prince Charming's left, anymore

Perhaps they are all taken by the goodly earth women
Ah! Such pitiful remorse… for the remaining unattached women
