*** Messages From Maine Poem by Natasha Dowdy

*** Messages From Maine

There was something in her words
That made me...Feel

The inflection of tone hidden inside the curves of her letters.
That seductively sweet voice I hear in my head as my eyes skim along the page, drinking in each phrase like lapping at her mouth for survival.
I taste her sweetness in the ‘I love you's' and ‘I miss you's'.
My fingers trace across the black ink, in memory tracing the lines of her body, hovering over the most tender of each medium.
Her script explodes with emotion
and carries a road map to her soul.
