-metered, An Atrocity- Poem by Lydia Thacker

-metered, An Atrocity-

Rating: 3.5

I don't know why this is so hard to do.
-Challenge accepted (means so much to you)
Sure wish you'd give me some structure or frame,
not asking much, please, just give me a name?

Dactyllic hexameter just won't give
and spondees, they make me not want to live!
Sonnets, my structure is feeble at best;
Darling, you've given one hell of a test!

So simple it is to make my own way;
I'll write my own rhythm and pen all day.
No talent for form does my hand posess;
each line I turn out is (to me) grotesque.

They lack my particular ebb and flow;
I think it best I leave this to you pros!
