Midnight Daydreams. Poem by John Richey

Midnight Daydreams.

Rating: 3.0

Late at night, when the world is at its calmest, when it’s easy to drift away…
My mind wanders, of things to come and things that never will
Oh, the exploits and endeavors I imagine, being the person I wish to be.
To explore the deepest depths of my mind's eye, never really wanting to leave
It’s such an adventure to just let the mind wander… and go along in a senseless sea
Pouring in, making me tremble with enchantment!

How it never stops, until I wake up from my dreamlike sleep…
Because the slightest sound, shatters the night calm,
Erupting and ejecting every wandering thought.
Not being able to go back into that wondrous daydream, how it strains the heart.
To revive the absurd thoughts, that corrupt and enlighten the mind…
Until the next time I’m resting, with the moon up high…
When drifting away, feels so normal and relaxing..
