Midnight Seas Poem by Margot Leison

Midnight Seas

Rating: 5.0

Slowly crashing, blissfully spreading
A sweet chill throughout bare feet
Slowly does the waves move
Charging and slowly retreating
In a rhythmic beat, in and out
.
White manes of foam gracefully descend
Unto the sandy seashore of bejeweled shells
Under dark covers of celestial night
Ships of clouds sail slowly unto distant skies
Watching the damsels of the seas
Spread their evening dresses of midnight blue

Ah, thou naughty sea who plays with the cool waves of the shore!
You have swept away the imprints of my feet on the sand
Hush, little gull, and go to sleep in the winds caressing arms
Listen and shut your sleepy eyes to sea mother's silent murmurs
As you slip on into a dream - filled sleep

And so I watch, under the evening sky
The sea that stretch unto horizons beyond what my dreaming eyes can see
And so I gaze in cozy wonder of blissful daydream
Endlessly looking onto the kingdoms of the sea

An insightful train of thought, well articulated and elegantly penned in poetic diction with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Margot. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
