Midst Of War Poem by Colden Sheppard

Midst Of War

In the midst of war a silence creeps through the hearts and minds of soldiers like
An unwanted nightmare that you know will happen
Pain, Hunger, and fear are just a glimpse of what is to come, but there is a light, not
Very bright but still evident. This light is what we know as hope, hope that the pain, hunger, and fear will subside, that we will keep pushing, keep moving forward, like we always did. Always will
