Minds Vacant Of Respect Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Minds Vacant Of Respect

When people who display,
Disrespect for others.
In the most disgusting,
Of public ways to express.
With this to do nonstop.
And immediately address,
Their own behavior.
Something is loose.
And not screwed tight.
To be noticed with each word,
Chosen to choose an argument.
Or igniting to incite a fight.
And for whatever the reason,
Ignorance to pick it...
Becomes for them the main event.

Yet...
Always heard is the word respect.
After screaming and shouting...
Have left those out of breath.
To accuse and blame,
On respect not to get.

Although..
Few would object to it given.
Or from another to receive.
But some folks believe,
They can treat others as they please.
As long as they have money.
To showcase pulled from their pockets.
But no sense to produce that is pulled,
From their heads to prove...
Minds to use have a full occupancy.
And for whatever that reason may be...
Some will go out of their way,
To prove their minds...
Have been vacant for quite some time.
