like a sunflower
its petals
bright
and hopeful
stretching out
towards the sun
its centre
dark
and immiserated
in complete contrast
to the joy
emanating
from
its petals
bright
and hopeful
now curling
inwards
trying desperately
to hide its centre
dark
and immiserated
