Misery Poem by Sarah Child

Misery

I lay awake at night
Crying and drowning in despair
My mind is broken
My soul dead
They see me
Disappearing in a pool of tears
But they don’t care…

In one hand I hold my heart
In the other a knife
Neither hand moving as though they were made of stone
I just want everything to go away
To sleep forever
But I cannot do it
I am doomed to a life in misery.
