Missed Call Poem by Sue Stone

Missed Call

A missed call?
A silent cosmic bleep.
Unrecognised number
Called back
Out of
Courtesy or curiosity.

A missed breath.
A silent, heart felt sigh.
Breath caught embarrassment,
Choked back
Out of
Fear of being found out

‘I missed your call? '
Forgive me
that I missed him
and could not delet the
number
stored
under ‘D' for ‘Daddy'
