Mondays With Lynne Poem by Sue Stone

Mondays With Lynne

Rating: 5.0

It is always five fifteen,
on Mondays.
You never invite
comment;
You always wait
for me to start.
Providing me with space
and place to mourn
those held in my heart.

You have held my hands
throughout this chance
to retread that path
I have walked
so many times past.
But never
with companionship.
to view this grief so vast

In casual observation, you
lend depth and definition to
this sense of loss.
I internalise you,
as part of that beloved
crew who never fail
to provide me
with compassion
and flawless direction.

I realise, I know nothing
about you.
after twenty four months
and a day
But you know,
all that there
is to know
about me,
and it still feels o.k.

Sue, you show such compassion, gratitude and wisdom in describing Lynne's compassion and quiet wisdom. As I understand it, Lynne is a grief therapist, because of the fixed appointment and the fact that you know nothing about her, except everything that you described of her. She obviously loves her people and her job.

I think this is absolutely beautiful. It is also feels very personal, yet I understand it and appreciate the sentiments. Really lovely, Sue.
