Missed To Add Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Missed To Add

Regardless who sits wishing...
So many believe,
They can put off their lives...
To be lived at a time scheduled.
Like a retirement,
Induced by delays and time slots...
One jots down to trigger a forgetfulness.

Folks not living in the 'now' today...
For an expressed wish to do tomorrow,
On hold!
Are waking up today to discover...
Those tomorrows including fading yesterdays,
Have perished.
They are gone!

Just like opportunities that come to knock.
If a response is not immediately taken...
Whatever had been there,
Is on a mission to deliver and leave.
That's it!
Regardless who sits in wishful thinking.
Or reminiscing the possibilities!

One may want to relive the past...
As if to grab it from a dusted calendar.
To 'update' information missed to add.
However,
The reality of it does not linger.
Perhaps in memory.
But not to live.
