Missing A Loved One Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Missing A Loved One

You're not here
You weren't able to hold on and believe
you had to suddenly leave
You had your own reasons to depart
But care remains here for you
Deep within my heart
Love came like a soft whisper
Then blew like a windstrorm
Then suddenly you were gone
and everything grew cold; once so warm
but my heart recalls your softness
and it's so hard to move on.
Wherever dreams come from
wherever they they go
I love you anyway
I wish you could truly feel so and know
I would tell you that I was through
and that everthing did heal
but that's not true
Not the way it really is
not the way my heart does feel
There is a place in my heart
that nobody can touch
You were someone special to me
though some might call us strangers
I loved you that much
and if you should happen one day
to read this poem
don't feel sad or regretful
Don't feel discarded or alone
I have a feeling we will meet in the end
Because wherever my soul goes
No matter that I fall in love again
I'll still have love for you
that I always meant to send
Real love that is true
has the most gentle beginnings
and I don't think it ever does really end
It's OK you didn't want me or need me
But know, always and forever
I never forget that you were once my friend
I never meant for us to end
