Missing Mom

It's been two years now
since mom passed away
but I think about her
each and every day
like the times we all got together
on a holiday
telling jokes and laughing
we all had a hand
but the best time was when
I would come by
and pick her up
and out west we would fly
mom couldn't wait to sit behind the wheel
of my old truck
just as proud as she could be
holding on to the wheel
we would laugh and talk for hours
it sure was good times.

Poem of the Day

poet Alfred Edward Housman

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.
