Missing You Poem by Jayne Doe

Missing You

Every day is another goodbye to a part of you I'll never get to know,
Except through the words of others,
A distant second to what it must have been.
It just feels like more to forget,
As I struggle to recall what used to be.
We came so close,
But now it's forever goodbye,
Unless someone else helps you say hi,
With a story of that stranger side of you,
One I've never met,
And will never have the chance of forgetting.
You've become a fading memory,
One that I wish I had more of,
Because I can't hear you calling my name anymore,
And when I close my eyes,
Your face isn't the same.
Please,
Come back to me,
If only for a moment,
In a quickly passing dream,
Hold my hand and don't let go.
Please,
Don't let me go.
