Mist Poem by Nontobeko Dlamini

Mist

Like mist, when the sun make haste
to the skies,
I take refuge to the air
Cursed to nothingness
Everyone is left holding onto
nothing; emptiness
Fills the hollow of their
palms,
Dear friends.
All that is left is the dew
Of my tears on the grass, but few
Savouring in blissful memories
Of the thickness of the love it carries
That once kept it cool and drenched.
The sun majestic takes with it that
precious dew.
So i wallow alone, wailing in the hollowness,
Of the silence of the wind...so
gentle..
