Mist On The Air Poem by Paul Lionel Wilson

Mist On The Air

Rating: 5.0

Orange and silver neon like stars
Among black houses
Trees a black cameo of coral
Dense entanglement in a noiseless world
Breath like a smokey mist upon cold air
Shadow sounds that grow and fade
Among peace
Movement is not visible
In the bleak austere night
Though cold dark and motionless,
Like some great beast
It carries the seeds of life
Holds among its neon lighted innards
Moving, breathing, seeing, feeling, vibrant
Life, life that is fast, violent, and bright
It Is Humanity

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
17 Years old at an all night party in England, winter, a bit the worse for drink, out in the garden. All the words just seemed to slide into my head, like the cold misty night air.
1967 Good year
