Mongolian Grasslands Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Mongolian Grasslands

Beauty to the eye and soul
Home of the Mongol people
Proud friendly, courageous and happy
Dwelling on the vast grasslands
Nature's kingdom, purest prairie
Most excellent of pastures.

Where Genghis Khan was born
Blue skies with white clouds
Green carpet with warblers
Flocks of sheep, goats, and yaks
Herds of camels and horses
Mongols the world's greatest horsemen.

Nature's precious jewel
Where the bold and brave are born
Herders, farmers, teachers, politicians
Children of the wonderous prairie
Becoming famed horse riders
Mongols, stewards of the world's treasure.

Mongolian grassland
Paradise rich with flora and wildlife
Where good-hearted people live
And joy and happiness abides
With visitors always welcome
Hearts inspired by the landscape.
