MONUMENT

Eerie beauty of the swamp willow tree
Thrust up from the depths of the earth
Like a hand grasping for the heart of the sky.
How many nights has inspiration yielded
From the stars gathered in your plumed crown
And parchment history rolled snug within

Great rhythm and rhyme, soothing memories of willow trees decorating my mind within. Love this poem, reminds me of inspiration when younger, sitting beneath the willow trees and writing. Good one! Thank you for sharing, RoseAnn
