As I kept my nightly vigil
On the cliff's rocky edge tonight
As the waves crashed below me
By the twinkling of starlight
I looked up into the cool night sky
Towards that silvery light
Casting a magical shadow
Turning dark waters bright
Upon the glistening waters
Unto the foaming shore
Shining like a beacon
Inspiring songs and lore
And as the light of stars
Guides sailors to their doors
The moon reflects steadily
Onto the watery floor
And as I begin to walk away
From my tryst upon the edge
I turn quickly back again
And stand wondering at the ledge
Towards the mystic beauty
In that silver wedge
Now full and ripely beautiful
Shimmering before my rocky edge.
Beautiful painting........visually rich.Well done Josephine.
