Moonrise Poem by Juan Olivarez

Moonrise

A giant orb of golden light,
Shines O'er the land most every night.
Behold her face, what a delight.

Rising slowly in the eastern sky,
She continues to climb till way up high,
Till she makes the hearts of lovers sigh.

Poems and songs she has inspired,
Giving her strength to the weak and tired,
And brought to so many their heart's desire.

Beautiful moon setting in the west,
My heart is lonely within my breast,
Enjoy your sleep, but do come back fast.
