Morality For Bail Poem by matthew wunsch

Morality For Bail

Everything and everyone
For sale
And for a limited time only
Morality 50% off.
Give your money to the church
Of God
Your sins will be absolved.

Take my hands
And sell them to a man
Who cannot feel,
Cannot hold his own weight,
Cannot steal.

Take my eyes
Sell them to a man
Who cannot see
The weight of his decisions
In history.

Sell my legs and feet
To a man
Who cannot stand
To see it all come crumbling down around him.

Take my spine
Sell it to a man
Who acts in cowardice everytime.
Make a million
Of all that’s mine
Invest it in the concrete jungle of our lives
Make a trillion
And buy back some pride.
