More Than A Game Poem by Temperance Joy

More Than A Game

Its time to say goodbye
You've found someone
And for you I'll try
To find someone
To call my own
My love my life
My heart its home
As I sit here
Trying to breathe
Your face makes it hard
For my soul to leave.
For I find myself tangled
Inside your arms
Along with that memory
My tears strike alarms
My head starts to spin
As my vision goes black
As you know now
There's no turning back
No way to retake
The steps you have made
For your own decisions
Have lead you away.
You leave me no choice
But to show you the pain
That you had showed me
Upon saying my name.
The words leave your lips.
Along with a smile.
And that had hurt worse
Than it had in a while.
I thought it was over
With the sound of my name
But to you this is more
Than love it's a game.
I hit the ground
As you utter one word.
You said it again
To make sure I had heard.
Forever. The name
Of a bear I once had.
I hope that past tense
Wont make you mad.
But you had to hear it
In order to find
The key to the puzzle
That some call my mind.
You have left me alone
For the very last time.
And now the last words
You'll hear will be mine.
Please remember the times
Both the good and the bad.
For regardless the out come
It reflects what we had.
The smiles the laughter
The tears and fights.
Your voice was the last
I would here every night.
So all that I ask is
You remember my name
And always know that
Love is more than a game.
