Our mother is a typical housewife without having any salary,
But when she hears us say, 'Thanks, MUM.', she is happy.
She is the best cook of home-made food,
Glad to see us eating and saying, 'Yummy and good.'
That will elevate her bad mood.
She is neither tired of nor fed up,
But encouraged by our approval sign of thumb-up.
Her chores are never ending,
But she is satisfied with our appreciation.
In our lives, she plays many roles,
I will tell you if you don't know.
They are financier, advisor, home tutor, home decorator,
Negotiator, peace keeper, preacher, story-teller, driver,
Chef, cleaner, dog-walker, etc..........you name it.
Doing all these in silence, she never misses.
Yes, she has a washing machine as her best friend,
But for stubborn stains she has to wash with her own hands.
She has never been a professional warrior,
But she is always a professional worrier.
She worries about our school grades and performance, behavior,
Health, good friendship, love matter, and career.
While her hands are working like an assembly line,
Prayers are said in her mind,
Followed by the hymn murmured in rhythm and rhyme,
Like a famous vocalist in her prime.
In doing the most difficult job on earth,
Neither fame nor reward would she expect.
With all her energy, she does the best.
Sometimes she gets slammimg of door and shouting back,
Stomping of foot and some disrespect.
Though she does not earn a penny,
What she earns is worthier than a million buck of money.
It is GOD's blessing she prays for us endlessly.
Asking Him to endow us with His best gift,
So that we would grow spiritually, mentally and physically fit.
