Mother Poem by shivangi narayan

Mother

Rating: 5.0

We are nurtured by a woman
who give us love and sacrifice
She is the most precious jewel
sent from heaven
God, in disguise!

She herself will remain hungry
but will feed her child
She herself will awake the whole night
but ensures that her child sleeps tight
She will work hard the whole day
not to satisfy her own belly
but to content her starving child

There is some obscure feeling
on her face
which tells me that i can also
win the race

She is above worldly creature
as she can figure the ordeal
that her child encounters

There is always a feeling of love
When she scolds her child
She is the only one who stays
till the end of one's life

When i close my eyes
I can feel her voice
reverberating in air
and my imagination
transports me to a land
my mother and i used to live where

Tears blind my eyes
As the air still holds her aroma
that land still holds her presence
and the echo of her anklet
makes that land once again alive

My perpetual thoughts makes me
sink deeper and deeper
till i realized
I was in the lap of a woman
who can make all my predicaments oblivious
by her one smile

I owe you mother
The million things you gave me
the tears you shed to save me
and your gentle touch which cares me

Another good poem, we all owe so much to our mothers.
