Mother Came Over Today Poem by Barbara Vanier

Mother Came Over Today

Mother came over today
She didn't know how I felt
She didn't know about last night
She said I looked like hell

Her instincts tell her 'don't go to far'
So she came in and asked how I was
I told her somethings
I didn't tell her everything

Do I appreciate her enough
Am I thankful for what and who she is
She cooked me dinner
She doesn't trust my feelings today

Mother is staying the night
She is rooming with me on the pullout
Thank you Mother for caring about me
Thank you Mother for your love for me

I love my Mother do you love yours
Do you see the small things she does for you
Did you know those are the real loves
Your mother loves you... you should love her too

Fine work, this one touched home, as I nursed my youngest who has the flu. Your mother I am sure is proud. Patricia
