Mother Dearest
Blessed I am
for waking
to your beauty
every morning
Every night
I start to doze
to your sounds
and wind that blows
Out and about
just being free
your beauty surrounds us
wherever we may be
A day on the beach
and still close to home
or a picnic at the park
while watching ducks roam
In moments of sadness
all I have to do,
is look out my window
and see a part of you
Your people so friendly
kind and relaxed
not in a rush for anything
leaving the rest perplexed.
Things to do
for shapes and sizes
from late sleepers
to early risers
Your best feature
a welcome home sign
something so perfect
only nature could design
Never to leave you
is my one true hope
away from you for long
I just won't cope
