Mother Knows Best! Poem by Dan McGonagle

Mother Knows Best!

What could be a more natural sight
A child feeding from his mother in broad daylight
Why is it viewed as a scene of disgust
What harm can ensue from that bond of trust

The look in his eyes...for me says it all
The love for his mother part of natures call
So why do the critics call out in derision
Are their hearts so true and above suspicion

For me it just seems the most beautiful thing
To watch fascinated as his little hands cling
To see this pure love being freely expressed
Its a wonder of nature that leaves me impressed
