Mothers Are Special! Poem by Clarence Prince

Mothers Are Special!

Rating: 5.0

Seeing its drawing near to Mother’s Day
I’ll dare you all to honour your mothers
So brother honour your mother
Sister honour your mother
Friend honour your mother

They deserve to be loved
They deserve to be praised
Let’s do as much as we can
For them as long as they live
Knowing we only get them once

And not many of us are blessed
To have mothers who lasted long
Then if you love not your mother
That is something really wrong
Try giving your mother a love call

Your picture maybe on her wall
Three loud cheers for all mothers
Happy Mother’s day, Mothers
Mothers are not just good friends
Our mothers – they are very special

A very nice poem for mothers, and I agree, mothers 'are very special'.

p.s. this poem is presented by PH as a Limerick. i beg to differ. :) bri p.s. i like the poem a lot, but feel there are two small typos. its for it's in 1st stanza, and maybe for may be in the last stanza, BUT i think (maybe) some poets outside of the U.S. DO use maybe when i would use may be. :) i'll send this to MyPoemList.

I like this one. but what about fathers? ? ? yeah, maybe more fathers ARE forgettable and/or regrettable than mothers are. DO you have one for 'dear old dad' i wonder. BUT, being a dad, and having heard of mothers who weren't so nice, and just because humans in general are not always the willing and loving and supporting parents a kid might wish for, ......................I'D SAY: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - IF You Got Lucky As A Kid IF you got lucky as a kid and got a good mother, one who was sometimes mean for-your-own-good, but other times seemed so good you seemed to smother... under her loving wings, cherish the thoughts of your childhood, AND let her know that you know she cared when she was mean, and that you wouldn't be as good a person as you are now, without her! BUT if you, like so many kids, have grown into adulthood without saying “Thanks” ….. as much as you think, now, you SHOULD have, don’t worry. I think that is “normal”! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - bri :) :) your ‘mothers’ poem shall be offered to readers of my/our upcoming September showcase for PH poets, which will shortly be found among my list of poems on my PH site. thanks for a nice poem!

Love this great tribute to all mothers! Yes, they are so special! Give them, their due while they are still alive! No amount of repentance can remove the stain if you have ignored her! A mother's love is incomparable. So consider her as paramount!
