Mount Nyiragongo Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Mount Nyiragongo

Mount Nyiragongo is fuming, smoking,
Burning and blazing,
The lava coming it,
Melting it all with the fire heat
And the embers spreading
And the Congolese running for shelter,
Cover, escape and refuge
From the city of Goma
And its spiralling villages
Mount Nyiragongo
In the Virunga Mountains,
Fire, fire all around,
Fire, smoke and lava
And it fermenting, fomenting,
Erupting and belching
Just like the hot coal tar
Spilling over.
