Mountains Poem by Dr Shamim Ali

Mountains

Oh, how my heart is stirred
By the mountains' mighty allure,
Their tangible, colossal form,
And the bracing air so pure.

In the mountain valleys' embrace,
My spirit finds its peace,
The serenity and quietude
Make all my worries cease.

The mountain houses beckon me,
Their charm I cannot deny,
And the people there, so warm and kind,
My heart they always satisfy.

The welcoming environment,
So fascinating and so fair,
The verdant green, the snow-capped peaks,
And the flowers blooming there.

I'm lost for words to describe
The feelings in my heart,
So overwhelmed by the beauty
That I cannot bear to part.

The flora and fauna, springs and streams,
Their charm cannot be matched,
And the vision of the rivulets
Makes my soul so deeply attached.

It's breathtaking to behold
The mountains in the distance,
Their chains of green and snowy peaks,
A majestic, wondrous instance.

In all their grandeur and their might,
The mountains fill my soul,
Their celestial spirit permeates
And makes me feel so whole
