Mum Poem by Fatima Nusairat

Mum

Rating: 5.0

I saw you Mom!

I have passed through the thin silvery mist.
scattering the letters like feathers.

Watched it fly over hills then disappear.

Ah _ how silly I was in the dream!

Too silly to know how death would take your smile like wings,

make of it strange heavenly birds,
In strange unearthly place,
where nothing withholds the sun but fog.
