Murals Poem by Annapurna Sharma

Murals

MURALS
A Annapurna Sharma

I pity the threatening shadows
Trying
To dig a dagger
To arrest
Elementary convulsions
Violent and lethal
The rainbow murals guffawed
And danced
To the tune of
Oncoming traffic
My eyes search
The orb of the moon
For a benevolent hand
To thrust
A piece of bread
Into the dark tunnel
My tongue wags
Like a dog's tail
My limbs squirm
Like an earthworm
Witnessing
The casualty of
Time
A mural
Painted with my brown blood
On the walls of civilization
