Murkha Bharat, Foolish India, An India Of Fools, Village Fools Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Murkha Bharat, Foolish India, An India Of Fools, Village Fools

You do not know it
As do not have the experience of,
Nor have seen and felt it
In their lives,
I have seen
What it is Foolish India,
India not foolish,
But the fools of India,
My village
So illiterate, so superstitious,
So lethargic, fatalistic
And inactive
But showing themselves so religious
And good,
But good not at all
Going with the danda
To threat and thrash upon the head
From behind,
So uncultured and uneducated
Rural mass of our villages
So unreasonable and illogical,
So inhuman and unread,
Poor children of poor India
They know it not
How to talk, how to behave with,
How to be submissive and polite?
All the time talking of politics and party,
Division and friction,
How to suppress and oppress others?
