Mutant Bird Poem by Emma Jane Pearson

Mutant Bird

Read the colours flying though the sky,
In blue and yellow strips.
Flying past as butterfly’s in the sky.
A bark you might ask why?
Open up your eyes
Look once, look twice.
Open up your ears as,
The sound you thought you heard leers
Further and further into your ears.
You hear it again, once, twice.
But all you hear is a bark,
When you expect to hear a hark...
Would this be more suited
For a little smart bird, such as this?
