Me And My World Poem by Emma Jane Pearson

Me And My World

I'm stuck in a land of
Deserted love now full of hate.
In a school playground where
Best friends are now enemies:
People have lots of friends but no real ones:
They just want to be in the popular group.
In a way of knowing people don’t
Take time to learn who they really are:
They're too busy trying to be someone they're not.
In society where you can’t
Trust anyone, not even your best friend:
Instead you have to tell your secrets to a locked up diary.
In a world where people
Stick labels on you like you’re a can of tuna on a shelf:
Real people don’t need labels.
In a human race where
People can’t get on:
Instead they declare a war on everything.
Then there's me in my own little world
Just dreaming:
Asking myself where have all the love gone?
