My Angel's Shoulders
My angel's shoulders are broad
Broad enough for all my worries and my heavy load.
He carries the the weight of my sins
As well as my hopes and dreams.
My angel's shoulders have always been there
Even when I am such a disappointment
I didn't even think he'd care.
And yet he offers his shoulder for me to cry on
And his arms hold me up when I am down.
My angel's wings they shed because of me
By flying so fast and so hard so he could reach me
Reach me on time so that I wouldn't go astray
My angel's eyes shed tears for me
Of gold, emeralds, diamonds and sapphires
These are his tears of joy
When I listen to him and heed our Father's voice.
Lastly, my angels offer his shoulders for me
To remind me, that I am never alone.
**Dedicated to my friend Barbara Terry** You give me words that are inspiring, this is your poem as well as mine. I love you, my friend and teacher. 12/23/2008
