My Anthem. Poem by Noorruddin Sawaf

My Anthem.

I would like you to sing for me my favorite song
And never think of the things that I have done wrong

In my life that I have lived, so many friends I had made
Yet none would later stay

In my grave I ask for only...
Piece and serenity

Let my dying dreams be a history
With so much pain and sorrow and a slice of misery
Let live

Would you dance the song of my heart
Where I get lost in darkness
And fade apart

Let all sing the anthem of pain
When my life and soul were buried in vain

Cry me the life I had asked for
In hopes of my life being an open door
Which would grant happiness for others
In memory of the long lost brother.
